 hey, 

Last night when i was updating my ps3 to version 4.25 a error occured with my ps3. I am pretty sure that update 4.25 did this to my system, my television will not even pick up a signal that my ps3 is connected to the tv. AND no its not a wire or tv problem because i was just playing prior to the error. I have tried going into safe mode but even then my tv wont recognize that a ps3 is connected. This error happened upon system, auto restart after a update. I will be highly upset if I have to come out of my pocket to fix this issue, being that all i did was update my system. Can someone please help me

Well, its not impossible it was the firmware update. But why would mine update fine and yours didnt?

Since this has to do with a firmware update I would call SONY. Its 1-800-345-7669.

Yea the video is very helpful, unfortunately it does not help me at all. My ps3 will not connect to my tv and this definitely happened after the automatic system restart we get after very firmware update.

I had the same problem going to version 4.21. I was updating from madden 13 disk. Half way through the update, the system shut off. I tried booting through safe mode, didn't even get through the first reset before ps3 shut down again. Waiting for sony to correct this over the phone hopefully.

take out the harddrive and format it in anouther ps3 console then install 4.25 using a usb memory stick

my ps3 is stuck at 99% on the newest system update and there is nothing i can do to make it work........help please

I am having the same issue.  Just got finished speaking with Playstation and did all the trouble shooting they requested.  Nothing worked. So of course, it was my PS3 that was broken and I have to now pay to have it sent in and fixed.  Funny, my PS3 was working perfectly until it forced me to update to 4.25.  I also spoke to a supervisor who said, "It was a coincidence that my PS3 broke at the exact same time I was doing the update."  I find this very hard to believe.  The supervisor also stated, "That if it was a problem with the update than they would be receiving calls and they aren't."  So I asked him,  "No one has called in with this problem, just me? I find that hard to believe as the internet is filled with people with the same issue as me with the 4.25 update."  He said he could not answer my question.  So I say to anyone who is having this issue call in to Playstation and complain  1-800-345-7669.  Such a disappointment and yet another reason as to why I prefer my wii to my PS3.

My also got an error while i was updating to 4.25, i have a 80gb B/C model. So i couldn't install the new FW, i decided to restore PS3 system but it got worse, the ps3 would just shutdown after i turned it on. So what i did was format the hard drive on my pc, then i  installed 4.21 again  in safe mode. It works fine again but i don't want to update to 4.25 yet, i think its bugged.

I had a issue too with the update but I got to install the update and it was fine last night but when I turned on my ps3 today it got a green light then went to a yellow light then a blinking red light. Yet again a update makes my ps3 go dead. So if anyone has the same issue please let me know how to fix it and not have to send it in to Sony cause I had to send in my other ps3 cause of a update.
