Recently my ps3 froze.
After restarting I was prompted to restore file system, then rebuild database.
When I returned to the xmb all my game saves and psn downloads were gone.
I reinstalled far cry and played for a solid 5 hour no problem.
When I turned on my ps3 today, I got a message saying less than 500mb left on hdd.
As far as I can remember I had plenty of space left, and now that my ps3 has essentially been wiped I should have tons of space not less than 500mb.
I was wondering if anyone could make any sense of this.
Edit: 120GB ps3 Slim currently 448MB/111GB free
The window of opportunity, to back up data, would be the best time to back up data. Regularly backing up data has been considered by some to be a 'best practices' technique. Some people back up data every day on the PS3, but that just looks tedious to me for a few things like trophies or game saves, that I could recreate anyway. I guess data recovery just sounds cool, and it seems everyone is into it.
Well, I hope that data is recovered. It could be worse. Good luck to you!
