So after about an hour of playing video games the sound starts acting really strange and fades out a lot, COD for example i cant hear any of the gun shots or things until there is an ambient noise then the sound comes back.

ie playing zombies without sound until you look at a powerup vendor then the sound can be heard. 

It happens with movies as well talking gets really quiet but any type of explosion or something comes out at a normal volume.

Im using a slightly older projection screen connected to my ps3 by component cables (if that means anything).
