I have the accessorie Sony charger to charge two controllers.
When its charging the lights are blinking RED..
Do they change to another colour or anything different to let me know that the controller is charged or do I have to keep track of how long to charge them.
If so how long? or what colour?

This is probably your best option since you said you've had you controller for quite a while and don't have a receipt. Check this youtube video on how to replace the battery.

I think I have the same problem. I try turning on my controller and nothing happens. When i plug it into the PS3 then I can turn it on and I can play. But once I unplug it, it won't turn on and after unplugging it, all four lights flash once and then nothing. Also while playing I realized that when the controller vibrates, the controller (even though it is plugged in) will shut off. I have to turn it on again and then I can keep playing until the next vibration happens. Also when I hit the PS button to see if it was charging, there was no battery symbol, only a dash where the symbol should have been. I have tried to reset it and nothing has happened. This controller is only 4 months old so I was pretty surprised when it stopped working.
is it shot? or just needs new batteries or what?

1 Be very carefull take the controller apart
2 unplug the battery.
3 plug it back in (the same battery not a new one yet)
4 put it back together. that work for me
