Also read this thread, lots of guys are having the same issue:
Maybe you can post in both threads. I have emailed tech support and everyone should do the same. The more noise we make the more likely they are to help us. (Don't curse at them, try to be civil)
After updating 4.31 firmware i have faced below issues
1.Game discs do not get recognized.
2.There is no display on the TV
3.Only green light is on and nothing happens.
I gave for service in Hyderabad (Universal Electronics)- INDIA,They did the job in an hour by formatting my Ps3 and updated with 4.31 version. It is working fine now.
It's working fine now.
I have a 1st generation 80gb playstation 3. I recently downloaded the black ops 2 1.04 patch and it installed perfectly fine. I buy Borderlands 2 and Dark Souls and try downloading the patch. The patch for Borderlands 2 is extremely slow for 337mb it takes like 2 & 1/2 hours for the patch to download, and what do you know? the patch says error has occured and the data is corrupted. Same thing happened to Dark Souls, a ridiculous download time and a corrupted data installation. I dont know **bleep** Sony is doing with their **bleep** software, but everything was working fine before their stupid update came along.
I posses a 9 month old 320G ps3 which admittedly I have not been using a lot for the past few months save the occasional movie and updates. During this Christmas I was gifted a few games and blue rays. Like a lot of you I was very disappointed to realize that the movies are not loading. Also a lot of games were freezing or stuttering both disc based and downloaded. I had no such problem prior to the 4.31 update and believe that this is totally software related. Has anyone had success in liaising with SONY on the issue or finding out if they will have another update to resolve.
I bought this following the failure of my 60G fat original and went through tedious task of transferring, dowloading and resaving almost five years of games , data and the like and really dont want to waste that time or money on another unit again . Would appreciate some helpful and knowledgeable responses, thanks.
