I bought a new white Playstation 3 (500GB) and it takes forever to update game data. When i turn the new playstation on for the first time and downloaded the PSN store update it took 5 seconds for the update. But now the game updates take 600 minutes for 15 mb. I have called playstation. They trouble shot with me and could not resolve the problem. I then contacted my Internet Provider Service, I have comcast, and it cost me $50 dollars to have them open my ports. I opened ports: tcp 80, tcp 443, tcp 5223, udp 3478, udp 3479, udp 3658, tcp 465, tcp 983, tcp 10070, tcp 10080, udp 10070. I even tried to down load the update data through the PS+ automatic update. It has been downloading for 5 hours now and has 20% of a 67mb download. I have reset my gateway multiple times, power cycled multiple times. I even returned the playstation to the store today and exchanged it for a new one and the same issue persists. Can anyone help me with this issue? Is anyone else having or had these problems with there new PS3 white (500GB)?
I was having the same problem with my 250gb Super Slim last night. I was trying to download the update for inFamous 2 and I either got an error, or the download was so slow I would give up after 15 minutes or so.
I decided to try it again before looking up solutions, and the update is downloading fine. I'm thinking the issue was with Sony's servers... try it again, hopefully it works for you.
