What do you mean you can't use your account? You should be able to just create a new system user account Users/New User and then go to PlayStation Network/Sign in for PlayStation Network & then select the sign in with an existing account option. Then activate your system for video & games. How many PS3s do you own? Do you game share?

Anyways, if your old system broke down [it no longer boots]  then there is a way to deactivate your old system and all PS system [PS3s & PSPs] associated to your SEN/PSN account.

Follow the steps below.

Deactivating All Consoles

  1. Log-in to your Sony Entertainment Network account at https://account.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com/login.action

  2. Click on the "Account " tab on the top right of the screen.

  3. Select "Media and Devices " from the left side of the screen.

  4. Four boxes will appear on the right: one for Video, Game, Music and Comics. Click anywhere in the Game box and then choose "Deactivate All ".

  5. Click "Yes " to confirm deactivation.

Note: Once you have performed this deactivation you will be unable to repeat it for 6 months.

Re: Need help with activation...

i have done that deactivation, my point is that i cant log in on my account because the old ps3 the broken one had the video activation, not just the game activation, and the video i cant deactivate through the site, i guess that the problem is there, and i wanna know how do i do as i cant deactivate the video through internet.

Ok, I see a lot happend whille I was replaying to this thread.

If you used the online method to deactivate all consoles associated to your system tne you must know that you need to wait some time in order for you to be able to reactive your console.

Game activation is for game related DLC

Video is for video purchased/rented on the PSN store.

As it shows on the activation windows, they are separate things.

Re: Need help with activation...

Call SONY, when I up my hard drive I found out I had multiple systems some how connected to my account and they removed them for me allowing me to use my account under the new hard drive.  I found out the hard way that adding a new hard drive makes the SONY think it's a new system and won't allow you to access it since it wasn't deactivated on the old one.  When we updated my daughter HD we knew right away to deactivate it and it went as smooth as butter.
