I have a PS3 super slim, 250 gig, i just purchased it on the 2cd of November, i did the 4.30 system update soon after the system freezes right before loading the xmb. tried every option in safe mode, so finally i manually updated to 4.31 and now it freezes soon after loading the xmb. i don't know what the issue is i have tried everything i know of to fix this problem. any advice would be awesome. i replaced my other PS3 slim because i thought the hard drive bad it was experiencing the same symptoms.

Return it for another new one. When i bought my Slim i was freezing alot, So i returned it and now the one i got is better. Although it still freezes once ina blue moon but who doesnt that happen to. But if it freezes alot like your saying then return it for another one. Or if you want try reformatting it.

well i retored to factory settings with out connecting to wifi now  it sees to be workin but now assains creed 3 keeps wuiting because "registation of the trophy information could not be completed" i dont what what that is all about either

That i don't know about, Is your system updated to the latest firmware? If not do so. I've never experienced anything like that so my suggestion if updating your PS3 doesn't work either contact sony or return your PS3 for another.

yes it is the latest update i figured out how to fix the trophy problem but lost all the AC 3 saves so now i have to start the game over again it wont let you transfer save to a new profile even though it is the same name as the other one

Good good. And if you have Playstation Plus you can save your saves online and retract them on any other PS3, Just so you know for the future incase anything like that happens again.
