I'm on my second Crystal White 500Gb PS3 (purchased from Future Shop in Vancouver, Canada), having failed to activate the included PlayStation Plus voucher and been told on the phone by Sony Support to return the machine in exchange for another.
However, the second machine's voucher code is not working either.
On the PS3, the error is something like "An error has occurred on PlayStation Store. Quit now."
Logging into the "Sony Entertainment Network" where it seems you can redeem codes onto accounts, an attempt to enter this code results in a message to the effect "This code cannot be redeemed on a PC".
So... I'm stuck.
Returning the machine to the store *again* is not likely to improve my chances of success, I'd wager.
The telephone support was far from helpful.

I called the Sony telephone support a second time and this time was told that the code is redeemable in the PS3's network account settings - NOT in the Playstation Store itself... though I was also told that this _should_ have worked.
So, that's pretty much standard fare for telephone support - 1 clueless and 1 knowledgeable call agent. It cost me one needless trip to return the first PS3 on advice from the first agent (plus whatever it costs to recycle the unit for sale again).
Also not good that simply redeeming a voucher is confusing in the first place... but there you go.
