I dunno what happened. Suddenly, my PS3 decided it just wouln't swallow discs anymore.
I'm not talking about it not reading the disc.
The disc simply will not enter the machine anymore. And somehow I doubt forcing it in would solve anything. Has anyone heard of this?
Somehow the PS3 detects me trying to insert a disc in the slit because it flashes its little blue light like it normally does when you do it normally. But nothing happens other than that, and pressing the eject button for the heck of it does three little beeps, like it does when the reader's empty. (which it is)
So is my PS3 kaputt? Or is there some magic trick that will make it work again?
(and if I have to send the thing to Sony for repairs, what will happen to my game saves?)
oops. sorry. i don't know why I typed that extra n't. Yea, I WOULD back up.
FYI. There is an options button on each of your posts that will let you go and edit your post and get rid of that ( 'nt ).
On another note systems ussualy get the yellow light of death when their drive goes out or their blue ray lense. Im just wondering if maybe you have kids or have had someone ever that might have put somthing in there that dosent belong? Im just curious so dont get deffensive.
I got no yellow light.
And no kids, no pets, no roommate. Nothing was stuck in the PS3 as far as I know.
I guess I'll call Sony.
I'm curious about that backup thing. Where do I backup this to? The same hard drive? I got usb drive, or anything...
Do I send them the hard drive?
And I really don'y wan a refurbished system
Disc thing aside, it seems to be working fine.... (I can play PSN games normally, watch movies off a memory stick, go to the store, etc)
This happened once to me.
I read deep inside of the forum from another that if you pick up your console and turn it upside down, then try the disc, it may take it.
I tried this, and to my amazement, it actually worked and I never had a problem with it since. I know it sounds absolutely stupid, but it's worth a shot.
