I'm new to the world of HD, got a 32" in. HDTV right after christmas and every once in awhile, espesscially this morning, the screen goes black, but i can still hear everything. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience. I did switch the video out setting to 720p, it was on 1080i, and 1080p, and made sure all connections were secure, just wondering if it's the TV or the cables. Thanks for any input!

I should hope it is not the "new" TV. The cables should not matter, providing they are not old or worn. You may have a loose connection, internally within the TV or PS3.
I am assuming you checked the actual connection on both ends with the cable. With this said, it may be something you need to bring up with the seller of the TV.
Do you have any other HDMI devices hooked up to the same TV? Do you have a switch box that is accommodating any other devices? There may be a few factors at work here.

yeah i checked the connections, I have it in the HDMI input 2 now, maybe it was a bad connection in tyhe back because you can't really push too hard because there is nothing to hold the TV, but the one on the side I can push while holding the other side of the TV.

Those jacks can be pretty tight. I have almost knocked my TV off the stand a few time when rearranging wires. ![]()
