So basically my PS3 is downloading everything extremely slow. I started downloading Infamous 2 yesterday around 7pm, and right now at 430 the next day it is only at 29%. My computer downloads everything super fast, as does my "other system". What gives with the PS3's super turtle speeds? Are there some settings I need to mess with?? And before someone says its my internet or some other BS, my DL speeds are 50+mb/s and uploads are ~10mb/s.

Are there other devices that are currently connected to the internet? If you test your signal strength on your ps3 it might be low. Also, were you playing a game during the download process? If you were, the download was pending, similar to a pause.

Yeah my computer is currently connected to the internet and just pulled that speedtest like 10 minutes ago. No I was not playing games, I left it on overnight and through my shift at work today, and came home expecting it to be done and it is sitting pretty at 29%...

I don't know if it will help, but i would turn off the computer, if it's not disturbing anything. It might help, and also are you running out of memory? I upgraded my memory and now i have a 500gb hdd and only about 370 are left. I downloaded a 7-8gb game (Just Cause 2)before i upgraded and it took about 7 hours. Now, when I downloaded a 7-8gb game(Saints Row 2) it took about 88 minutes.

Memory is certainly not an issue here. I have a 320 gig HDD with 260g remaining on it. I also doubt that casually browsing the internet is going to cause download speeds to crash from 50mps to 50kb/s... I watched it and it takes almost a minute to download a megabyte... I just dont get it, what is wrong with these things? I hate to sound like a broken record, but my comp downloads at the speed of light, as does my xbox. But this thing is driving me dam near insane. I tried making it a DMZ host, to no avail. Actually made is slower if that is believable.... Any other possible solutions??

Can you try using a wire from your router. You could be getting wireless interference.

You could try resetting your modem and router.

If that doesnt work, you might have to reconfigure the network settings on your PS3 and see if that helps

Ive re-configured the settings and made a set IP for the ps3. Tried making it a DMZ host, both didnt work. Reset everything, nothing. The download is actually going slower now... It has moved 4 percent in the two hours since I made my original post. This is driving me crazy. Literally makes me want to not buy games for the ps3 anymore, just because of how much of a headache it is when it comes to downloading updates/games etc. And that is very unfortunate, as I have been a Sony diehard since the PS1 came out in 95

Whoa! I have a dsl 5 mb download speed and inFAMOUS 2 took like 2 hours to download. (no lie)

I highly doubt its your ps3. I assure you the ps3 doesnt download at turtle speed!

I would say its your network configuration, or modem/ router. I never had to mess with any settings on my ps3.

Have you tried a sony tech? ( 1-800-345-7669 )

I wish you luck but just had to add my 2 cents: Its very unlikely the ps3.

I guess calling sony tech is my last option, seeing as how nothing I have tried has worked...
