how are they going to maintain the servers and functionality of the necessary components to implement that without money?

of course it was working before it failed, that happens!

online games are hosted on the game developers servers, not sony's.

sony has more money that you will ever see in your life. they can afford to run some info servers, HOME is the only game style server they need to run. the rest of the servers are through the developers.

again... but at least I got my data off it and deactivated my accounts.

nothing is happening, what makes you think it won't be free...it was just a survey; not a official announcement. The only thing offically said from Hirai was "we are studying the possibility of introducing a subscription model"...that is all.

it allows you to talk to your friends no matter what you're doing, what game you're playing, etc. it's like the voice chat except you can do everything else while you se it.

again... but at least I got my data off it and deactivated my accounts.
