I had an issue where I had to go into the PS3 (Fat version) and realign a gear and rail in the blu ray drive to make it feed properly.

I got that working and later on installed a HDD (used one out of another laptop that was 150 GB) Everything was playing well and then about less than 24 hours later.  the PS shuts off about 5-10 mins into games. I had NCAA 13 and thats when the problem started, after you push start it lags to the team selection, once you start the game after team selection, it would shut off, red light blinks.

I dont know if this is coincidence on part that perhaps the graphics heat sink needs more thermal paste, or the blu ray drive has decided to act up in accordance with me fixing the rail and gear alignment on it.

It does not shut down though at the menu or when I play a PSN game that dont run off the disc.
