I hard reset my PS3 to hook up the system through A/V Jacks and they are not showing inn the settings to choose from. So all I see is a scrambled picture that shows the PS3 but also the audio is a constant humming noise.

Oh boy. Your description is somewhat vague. So...you plugged in the AV component cable to the PS3 and then plugged how many cables into your TV or AV receiver 3 or 5? Then did it not detect that you had AV cables when you turned on the TV? Did you switch the TV menu to AV? DId you on the XMB menu of the PS3 go to Settings>Display Settings and change the input to AV?
Answer these questions and we can go from there.
Let me explain better. This is something i have done many times in the past, i am useing the red, white and yellow a/v jacks to hook up the PS3 to a tv that doesnt have a HDMI option. After conecting all cables to the tv and also XMB and switching the tv to AV mode the XMB is somewhat visable but very scrambled. With a constant humming sound. I can see enough of the screen where i can adjust the video settings in the XMB. But when i try to it does not show the option for the HDMI, composite S-Vid but not the AV Jacks. I have had to do this many times in the past normally it just does this by hard resetiing my XMB but not this time. Its the same tv as well. Also normally i would see the option in the XMB settings to switch over to AV Jacks but its not an option. Hope this helps a bit better than my other post. Thanks for your help.
OK, that helps a bit. So... you are connecting to your TV with 3 cables. Are you saying that there are ONLY 3 spots on your TV to run cables to?
Here are a few A/V troubleshooting options you can try with a composite video setup
Link is no good. Problem loading page. Thank though
Basicly what he is saying is that you need to select the composite S-video function from Settings>Display Settings and the Audio portion as well to get it to work.
Also, it's really none of my business...but did you know that Walmart has 22-29 inch HDTV's on sale this week for as low as 98 bucks.
Yeah i understand that. Also understand that i gave this PS3 to a good friend that is in hard times and cant afford to go to Walmart to buy a new tv. Just saying. Well anyway thanks for your help and time on this matter.
