I have a Slim console. It won't sync controllers, they need to be plugged in to work. I found out update 3.15 fixed this problem on the slims, but mine is on 4.00, but I decided to try update it to 4.11 anyway. Now it's stuck in an infinite updating loop, gets to about 75% and keeps restarting. From experience, the updates don't complete if there's some faulty hardware, but the bluetooth can't be replaced on the Slim so what the FUCK do I do?

Well, first of all, back up all the data that you can, and try doing a system restore. If that doesn't work, then...you're going to have to contact Sony on this one.

Best of luck getting your PS3 fixed!

I wish you had read it properly.
I'm definitely not taking it to Sony, they'll charge $375 to replace it with a refurb, better off buying a brand new one.

do a system restore or reformat hard drive since something might corrupted and yes back up unless you don't care about the gamesave unless you have ps plus which you know store game data online.

I wish you people could READ! How can I can do a system restore or anything in the recovery menu when it's stuck in the firmware update screen? have you never tried updating your firmware before?! and formatting the HDD during the update would BRICK the entire console, stop spreading stupidity. Forget this thread the PS3 is screwed. No more replies please.

you just said stuck at update loops so people think you downloading the update not installing it so not need to be rude

sorry but people who don't read the question deserve it, otherwise they'll keep posting useless replies on other threads and never learn the lesson to READ properly. I said I was stuck in the update loop, wtf does that have to do with downloading? how would I even get into the firmware update if it wasn't even downloaded properly? Please just read and at least try thinking next time, for everyone's sake. Unsubbing from this pointless thread.

Hey just fixed mine. It updated and got stuck in update mode. I couldn't get to recovery mode or nothing. The Sony guy told me to send it in and it would cost 100$. I though F all that. So I gutted it. I found what the problem was with my wireless card. The plug going to the mother board was not connected securely. So after reconecting it I put it back together and it completed the update and works fine. I also if u have the code 8002f1fe this one means that the wire from ur blue ray to ur mother board is not connected securely. This happened on my other play station. Both did the same thing in update mode and now both work fine now. Hope this helps. So if u don't have the $$ to send it in u can find videos on you tube on how to open the play stations the proper way. Good luck let me know if this works for you.
