There are several things you can do for a disk read error (DSR)
1) Use condensed air that comes ina can, and clean all the dust in your vents and in the back.
2) If that does not work, buy a lense cleaner from Walmart.
3) If non of this works call SONY 1-800-345-SONY Use your 2-year warranty if you have one.

Call Sony 1-800-345-SONY. Do you really ant to try to fix the problem yourself? I mean going inside and "trying" to fix it yourself? Many people cause MORE problem's trying to fix it themselves. And once you open your system your warrenty is no longer valid, and Sony will not even touch it ever again. So do you want to try to fix it yourself, because I will tell you how if you want...

Actually, you should not clean the lense or use an air can.  The air can blows the dust right into the PS2, and the lense cleaner can make the issue worse.  You need to call sony.  The number is in my signature.

When your Playstation 2 gets a disk read error, it's time to call Sony! Sony Technical Support: 1-800-345-SONY (1-800-345-7669)
Sony Game Tips: 1-900-933-SONY (1-900-933-7669)

Again you mention this two-year warranty. What the heck is it? I never heard of it before.
