Hey, what's up ya'll? Anyways, I've been having trouble with my Playstation2. I've already sent it to be repaired once. It played perfectly, but then it got screwed up again. It's stuck on only playing DVD-ROM games. The CD-ROM isn't working. Since my warranty on the PS2 is already up, I opened it up. I took everything apart and then I took a look at the drive. I looked at the lens, and it was fine. But then, I saw some wear and tear on the info ribbon that is connected to the lens. This is the problem, where can I find a replacement and how would I install it? Thanx for listening. Hope you can help me out. Oh yeah, if anybody else is having problems like me, please help me send a petition to sony to have our systems replaced. It's not our fault that sony sold us a defective Playstation 2.
Actually, they would. The warranty only means that if it is broken or defective within the 90 day period, they will fix it for free. Besides, the warranty was already up a while ago. I got it on launch day. I took it to the Sony store in Pennsylvania, and they agreed to fix it for $199 dollars. Hell no!! That's some money right there! I could get four games on the price.
