Re: Don't buy Action Replay for PSP Go

I use Action Replay and other such Cheat Devices purely for entertainment purposes or in the case of the Pokemon Games, because I live in North America.

I take no issue with Sony allowing the AR to work with the current Firmware but I fully understand why they don't. I won't get into...stuff I shouldn't say on the Official Site but I will say if people want to cheat, they'll find a way. Datel isn't the only company that makes cheats. Everyone here knows it or how to do it, etc (even if they've sworn off doing it of course). "That Site" (Ends as "faqs". or "XXXXFAQS", I assume most of you know the site and I'm referring to), which in recent years has been fighting an uphill battle to kick freelance/amateur game modders as well as fansub/fandubbers from their site (mostly because of the number of buyouts and partnerships they've gone through over the years) is against the discussion of illegal activity and other such things that are obvious violations of a company's EULA/TULA. I'm not gonna get into the specifics because I don't want to sound like I'm trying to solicit or offer services in that regard, which I'm not.

The reason I won't say "That Site" by name is because in the opinion of many circles, that site abandoned its original intent in favor of satisfying the corporate sponsors they've been gaining over the last ten years. I belong to one of those circles obviously XD

Getting back to Datel:

Their customer service sucks. They almost never followup with queries and complaints about their products and they rarely update their code databases. I have the AR DS and I get my codes (which are much better than what Datel offers) from other sites. I can understand the fact that they do have to make sure they don't do anything that could get them in trouble with Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft, hence why it took them almost a decade to release the AR PSP VS a year for the AR DS. The Wii is the first Nintendo system to require periodic firmware updates while the PSP has been like that far longer. Of course, there are some developers at Datel going "All that and they 1-upped us!" while others are probably going "Oh yeah? We'll have a new one out too!"

It's basically a cat-and-mouse game between Datel and Sony XD

TC: You do need to involve your Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau (BBB) because that's the only time they will listen to you sadly. To give you a brief backstory on Datel, they've been around about ten years and bought Gameshark, Inc. just when they (Gameshark) was being sued by Nintendo and Sony for ignoring Cease and Desist orders regarding the Gameshark. They inherited those lawsuits and apparently settled but now they're in trouble again XD

Re: Don't buy Action Replay for PSP Go

holy krap there are a lot of fascist $%^&s on this forum who the #$%^ing hell are you to determine how someone enjoys their game? and if some one wants to buy a cheat system so what? i know alot of you anti cheaters out there us cfw... well guess what thats frikken cheating as well mate... and what about guides and walkthroughs? does that ruin gameplay and make you a noob? what about hints? or heck reading the manual?  and what about using a cheat device to unlock content that would be impossible to unlock for the player otherwise?

let me guess you should shell out for a frikken plane ticket to $%^&*ing japan learn the language and go to the appropriate event... because otherwise you would ruin your gaming experience.... bite my chode you self righteous #$%^&s...

now, if you use cheating to gain an unfair advantage against another player in multiplayer thats different all together...

and as far as action replay, i would put it down to firmware, i have just looked at their site and they say A/R only works on psp firmware 6.20 and lower, so if you have upgraded your psp go to 6.3 or higher A/R wont work...

im pretty sure the will get around to updateing and your A/R will work again, and hey man dont listen to all the self righteous ^&*(*(*&s its YOUR game do what ever you want!

damn you guys make me sick, i dont even want to be on this forum at the moment...

anyways cheating is for noobs that can't do anything

Not really, as some users have said there are cheats that are just for fun, or cheats that make the game more difficult...

For example, there are cheats in a well known game which include:

-All enemies always know where you are, even if you are hiding or sneaking around.

-All enemies have lots and lots of grenades and always use them.

-All enemies get upgraded to their highest ranks.

-Weapons that you get only have 50% of the ammo they should have.

-The hardest difficulty.

-Your HUD, crosshairs, radar and weapon/ammo indicators get disabled.

-Enemies won't flinch when attacked.

Those are the ones I remember... And yeah, I used to cheat a lot on that game, it was a whole new challenge!

Re: Don't buy Action Replay for PSP Go

I cheat, AFTER I beat a game. And only for single player use. Just for fun.

The only time I ever used cheats on an online game was when I enabled an "anti-hack" cheat, which turned off all hacks for everyone playing the current game.

This sounds extremely useful with the current state of PSP's online system.
