unknown 4 digit code

I got a psp for a christmas gift I love it and got 4 games with it my problem is that even though it connects to the playstation network, when I click on browse net is asks for a 4 digit code ..I dont and never had such a code so what do I do to fix this problem is there a way to reset it or what? thanks

That sounds like the parental controls. Did you get the PSP used? If not I think 0000 is the default code.

yes it was bought used, I am pretty sure I tried 0000 but it didnt work infact I tried quite a few numbers and they didnt work,so what now then? I dont want to stop playing my games but if I have to reset everything then I will if I can figure out how to do that.

If 0000 doesn't work you may have to reset it to factory settings. Have you tried google?

ok here is what I can do and cannot do I can go to the playstation store hell I even have downloaded a demo from there but if I click on anything that refers to internet it asks me for a 4 digit code 0000 doesnt work, so I am thinking that yes I might have to restore it but dont know how to do that.

Settings Menu (first list on the XMB) > System Settings > Restore Default Settings - is how to restore PSP to factory settings.
