Hey, I've been trying to buy and download a game on my PSP slim except I keep getting this message: "An error occurred 80551002" after confirming my purchase in the checkout screen. I've tried adding funds to my wallet other ways, and it says that they can't be added. All my credit card info is up to date as well. I started getting this after I had updated to the latest firmware. A quick search on Google shows that other people have gotten this error, although no one really knows why. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I am having a similar problem with my psp go. In my case I bought the PS in Singapore and I can not add funds now that I a back in the USA. The error code I have is 80023102, problem is the same I get a message saying my card can not be used. Seem to work fine for x box download?
I guess in my case this is Sony's new ploy to effectively regionally encode games. would have been nice if Sony had mentioned this before I bought it.
Sony USA help flat out refused to actually help, basically told me tough luck pal we don't support Sony products purchased out side the USA.
Best advice don't buy anything Sony, if they are going to continue to treat customers with such disregard they deserve to be loosing money.
Same problem here.
I bought my PSP yesterday and I was able to buy and download a few games, then all of a sudden it just started to happen last night, and it hasn't worked since.
I am still having problems with it
I'm having the same problem, but I have an original PSP, bought in the US, I've entered my card information correctly 6 or 7 times, but it still says that my card is invalid when I try to add funds, and when I try to just buy my game, it gives me the 80551002 error thing, but my network is working fine, and the PS Store network is up, obviously. I've bought things before on a different and equally valid card a year ago, with no problems except for slow downloads. Really annoying me now, and I haven't contacted support yet, but it would seem they aren't any help at all, judging by what I've seen posted around here recently.
Call them up and complain. More people the better. They need to know how broken their system is. I called two of the credit card company's that I tried to use and they tell me they see the transactions and they've been approved on their end but Sony denied it.
