DNS Error 80410418

Has anyone over come this error message (DNS Error 80410418) on your PSP when attempting to log on the internet? If so please enlighten me;at any point now im going to use this for another excuse to start drinking!

Im in need of some serious help!

A Communication With the Server failed.
Error code : (80410418)
- The PSP is unable to obtain IP address.
+ Check your router's firewall if its blocking the PSP.
+ Turn off the proxy in the PSP.

I'm having the same issue, I hooked my PS3 and my Wii up no problem, but I get the same message for my PSP. Can anyone tell me if it may be because I have not tried to get me PSP hooked up before? I have had it for about a year and never botherd to even try the internet with it, in fact I'm still using the origional OS. I'm trying to upgade the OS, but have been unsuccessful because I can not get on the net. Can anyone tell me if I should download the newest update to the memory stick duo first, then upgade the OS, then maybe I can get on the net????

When I create a new connection, I go through the process, add everything that is required, WEP Key included, test connection (successful), but can not access the net. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ya, 1.5 didn't have the browser, just do Newtork Update

Thanks, when I try to do a Network Update, it will not let me in on the WLAN, are you saying I should use USB and save to the Memory Stick Duo?

do you get an error code? i wouldnt recommend updating via network update. update using this guide using a usb cable. do you have a wireless router?

Yes, I get an error (DNS error.....) I will try updateing using your guide and a USB cable and let you know how that works. I do have a wireless router, and I have added my PS3 and Wii on it with no issues at all. They are presently still working fine. I guess I'm just confused, I will start with updateing my PSP, and then try to get online. Thanks for your help, if you think of anything else that may help me, please let me know.
