Streaming to PS3 so slow it doesn't work.

60GB PS3 wired to the network.  XB360 on the same switch.  Streaming to the 360 is quick and snappy - no issues or play back problems with supported media.  The PS3 however just doesn't work.  It takes forever for the media to start playing and then if/when it starts it only runs for a few minutes before the video freezes and stops.  The exact same video on the internal drive or via USB drive works just fine so I know the media is supported.  Does the PS3 have a buggy/bad wired network card or is it just bad with streaming all togehter?

What media server program are you using for the PS3?

I"ve tried a few. Most recently - WMP11, FreeNAS, Nero.  Same results from all.

PS3 media server doesn't appear to work at all for me.  It says PS3 not found, PS3 shows share but gives DNLA protocol error when trying to connect.  Running Vista64 and network discovery is on.

I may try swithcing to wireless to see if that helps.  If wireless works well but wired does not then that would indicate an issue with either the supplied network cable or the network card itself.

Odd.  Wireless is quick and snappy.  The store (which used to take several minutes for the screen to fully populate) now just fills up instantly.  Media streaming starts quickly and works.  Are there known issues with the network cards in the 60gb models?

The switch is the problem then.  Wireless has worked fine for me in the past but I moved to wired for a more consistent connection.
