Hello everyone. First time poster here, and I have enjoyed reading alot of the different threads. I have learned a ton.
I am a new PS3 owner of about 3 weeks. I did just get the Netflix disc. I signed up for the 1 disc at a time unlimited Netflix account. I put the netflix disc in and selected it under the "video" option of the SP# start page. I always get the error: "cannot connect to Neflix. Please try again later..."
I have tried for about a week now, and even ordered a new disc. There must be something I am doing wrong, but cant figure it out. Netflix support is non-existant, so I thought I would seek help here. Thanks in advance.
It does indeed require internet connectivity. I have the fastest internet option available in my area. I watch youtube and other streaming sites on my PS3 and can do so right now. Only the Netflix option seems to not work.
I also did enable "BD Internet connection" as well. I do have the most current system update.
you need to activate it. if you can't get to the page for an activation code, you may have internernet connection issue, like a router not allowing instant stream.
seen your second post, you need to go to ww.netflix.com/ps3

I have this same issue. But it had previously worked for me, then over night it stopped.
I can access any other site through my PS3. Any ideas?

It worked for over a month then stopped.
I was on the phone with their customer service and we tried all sorts of things and nothing worked. They thought it was my ISP but I know people on the same provider that can use this function.
I have a similar situation.
I've been using Netflix on my PS3 for over a month and it's been working fine, until about a week ago. That's when it started giving me the connection error. It first happened when I tried to watch a movie. I thought they were just having network problems so I left alone for a few days, then I got tech support from Netflix. He got it working for me after trying a couple things (1. set the date & time via internet, 2. delete Netflix BD data). I was able to watch a movie the other day, then today it gave me the connection error again. I repeated the same steps and got it working again. I was able to watch one episode of a series, then when I went to play the next episode it gave me the connection error AGAIN. And now I'm trying the steps again and it's not working.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
EDIT: Ok, I just tried those two steps again and it worked.
Step 1: Settings -> Date & Time Settings -> Date & Time -> Set Via Internet
Step 2: Video -> BD Data Utility -> Netflix Instant Streaming Disc -> press triangle -> Delete -> Yes
Step 3: Video -> Netflix Instant Streaming Disc -> go to netflix.com/ps3 from a computer and enter the activation code from your ps3.
Can anyone confirm that this works consistently?
I honestly spent about 3 hours on the phone with Netflix, Playstation, etc and nobody had this fixed. I resolved myself to figuring this out today, and came back here to see if there were any more suggestions. Big props to you for following up with a resolution. It is finally working for me weeks after signing up for Netflix.
