Error 80030928... Constantly.

17 replies 4823 views Edited May 4, 2008

Greetings, first poster here, and I may even have the wrong forum

My issue is this --  I use WMP11 as my media centre, however everytime I try to copy a file (anything larger than lets say 20 megs) it craps out on me with a error 80030928...  I've downloaded big demos off the net, never had a issue, same with firmware etc.

Same thing if I'm streaming a video, it gets real choppy...  MP3s work fine.

Looking for any sort of help :/

I am having the same issue when I try and transfer large video files across my wired network. Anything over 4GB and I get this error. Nothing seems to come up for the error code on Google either, thanks in advance

May I ask what kind of router you are using?

Are you wireless, or wired?

I think i got an answer for this question, i had it like all of u, i'm a TVersity user and i have noticed that error will happen only on transcoded files, for ppl who doesnt know what the program does this is a small tip, not all the files ur watching on ur PS3 r Supported by it, actually TVersity is the one Transcoding it while ur watching u can figure it out by forwarding a video u have just started playing on ur PS3 it cant be done,

Any ways the solution is to go to settings>Transcoding>When to transcode  (it's gonna be on Only when needed) switch it to (Never) and ur done but after that u won't be able to view ur none supported video files on ur PS3 thro this Media server, so u either have to switch it on everytime u wanna watch something with out copying it to ur PS3, or just Transcode ur media files using any Converting program b4 copying them off ur PS3

Note: TVersity might even Transcode files that r playable on ur PS3 which is gonna double or Tripple ur file Size which u dont want at all.

hope u ppl find this useful
