you can do that...and View Pictures...go to the menus....and Use the Browser.
but NOT play games

You CANNOT play games and listen to music at the same time....atleast...for now

hopefully Sony will release something in the near future

So far i have downloaded the game, "high Velocity Bowling" (for all you bowling fans) and it does give you the option to list to your music library and play the game at the same time.

I too wish they put that feature into the next firmware update. Also, i would appreciate it if they allowed you to play/upload music from your iPod as well.I use that as my music library for all my PC's.

Nice way to forum dig (responding to an old thread).  It is heavily rumored that the 2.4 firmware will have in-game music access through the XMB.  Sony has already confirmed that the 2.4 firmware will include some form of in-game XMB but no one knows what features will be included and what features will be missing.  You can't have full XMB access while gaming (some tetard would try to change their PS3's output resolution and cause the console to freeze) but the Xbox 360 has the ability to message friends, invite friends to games, text chat with a friend, voice chat with a friend, play music from a number of sources, and change your theme.  The PS3 should at least be able to do this.

Sony does not read these forums though.  They pay people (or hire people for free, I don't know what they do) who are called mods and admins.  They monitor the forums and that is about it.  In fact, these forums aren't even run by Sony.  They are run by a company called lithium with Sony's permission.  There is absolutely no way to contact Sony through the forums.
