they should, if they want to increase sales
They're called classics for a reason. Great games are just that and don't need things like trophies to garner good sales.
I'll admit, yeah it's possible that if a PS1 game did somehow get trophies it could attract the trophy hunter crowd. But it's doubtful that a small increase in sales would offset the cost that a developer would infer from porting a PS1 game to the PS3.

It would be sweet, but no.

Well PSone games on PSN may never get trophies, but I'll make a trophy up right now. In Suikoden... "Aquire all 108 character."
Lol! And if you get all 108 characters, you can give yourself a gold star sticker instead of a trophy, because they are both equivalent in usefulness.

i agree it isnt as easy as people think, but it would be cool if maybe they could add just one gold trophy for lets say general completion of a game e.g finishing the story of an rpg but not getting every char to level 99, or in a racing game finishing the hardest race but having to buy all the cars. basically whenever you get to the end credits of a game
im sure it would be harder for some games and easier for others. but at least putting one trophy in there im sure would lure more sales
