Re: Where can I find the game called Gomibako on the psn store?

Mar 19, 2009

There's not a ton of Japanese in the Japanese version.  Only the instructions are Japanese, which aren't relevant once you figure out the game.

Yes, it's on the Japanese PSN store and you will have to have the equivalent of a Japanese card, unless you happen to have a Japanese credit card. There are places that sell the Japanese PSN cards for a markup over the exchange rate.

EDIT: It seems it is also on the Hong Kong PSN store, and that version has an English language option.

Hopefully we'll see a release announcement for it in the NA PSN Store soon since it seems to already be localized for English.

You don't have to buy it from Japan PSN in Japanese.

Thanks.. is there a difference between the Chinese PSN card and the Japanese PSN card? Which one is cheaper?

I saw that they're selling the $3,000 yen psn card for over $50 something with tax at yesasia.com.  that seems quite expensive.. so I was wondering if the Chinese PSN card is cheaper... since the Yen in china is cheaper than the Japanese yen.

Current Exchange Rate

US Dollar - Japanese Yen - Hong Kong Dollar

$10 - ¥   959.75 - $77.50

$20 - ¥1,919.50 - $155

$30 - ¥2,829.75 - $232.50

$40 - ¥3,839     - $310

$50 - ¥4,798.75 - $387.50

Cost of Gomibako

Japan Store: ¥1,500 or $15.62

Hong Kong Store: $112HKD or $14.45

Playstation Network Tickets

¥1000 = $16.90 or ¥59.17 per dollar

¥3000 = $48.90 or ¥61.34 per dollar

¥5000 = $76.90 or ¥65.01 per dollar

$200HKD = ¥2476 = $29.90 or ¥82.80 per dollar

In conclusion, not only is it cheaper to buy Trash Box (Gomibako) on the Hong Kong store by $1.17, but you also get more for your money by buying a $200 Hong Kong Playstation Store Ticket as opposed to getting even a ¥5000 Japan Playstation Store Ticket.

The price of the HK version is HK$112.00, which is about $14.50 USD.

There is a difference in the PSN cards, and they only work in the currency they are issued in. I agree that is pretty steep for a JPN PSN card.

Maybe its just me but this game is crazy hard. I'm having a hell of a time on just the second level. The preview videos make it look so easy.

I don't have it, but I did see a post somewhere else from someone who does and he said it seemed pretty hard, though he didn't write how much he'd played.

Is there anything in particular that made the 2nd level hard for you? Or just a combination of things?

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that in the first level, most of the items break down into small bits really easily but in the second level less items break up and therefore take up more space. And then there are the items that mess with you like the sponge that doesn't break and cushions dropping items preventing them from breaking, or the soccer ball that bounces out and causes you a 'miss' (you only get 3) if you drop it from too far up. And if you accidentally drop one of the valuable items in like the ring or cheesecake, might as well just restart because it drops a ton of bowling balls in there. I haven't been able to destroy any of those and they take up so much space.
