Re: Games for the wife

Thanks for the suggestions!  we tried out echochrome (ok, a little too weird), Go! Puzzle (she loves the tetris type one), and some other stuff.  she's into really simple games, and any basic side-scroller/platforms (aka mario stuff).  i've got the pixel junk monsters one,  but she hasn't tried it yet.  she's cool with not playing it, but i think it'd be fun to find something we can "bond" over.  Is that Loco Roco game any good?  I showed her the video preview, but it's hard to figure out what it's like....other than colourful and happy.

Echochrome is a real mind-bender!

(you haven't even tried the hard levels yet!)

Another puzzle game to consider is Piyotama, and also Lemmings (maybe even consider super rub-a-dub...)

If it's side-scrolling stuff, you DEFINITELY need to check out LittleBigPlanet later on in the year. (pixeljunk eden is another to consider)

For something to 'bond' over, maybe check out SingStar, or if you're not into singing, check out BUZZ! Quiz TV coming later this year for some trivia-fun.

also, If you have a PlayStation EYE camera, check out games like Trials of Topaq, Operation Creature Feature, and for a more thought-provoking game, The Eye Of Jugment.

And maybe consider some simple sports games, like Hot Shots Out Of Bounds, or downloadable games like GO!Sports Ski/GO!Sports Skydiving. (maybe even high velocity bowling)

heck, Maybe even PAIN!

BTW: LocoRoco Cocoreccho! isn't really much. It's not like the original LocoRoco game, but instead a very nice interactive screensaver with a goal. however, You'd probably spend time watching all your LocoRocos go around rather than actually and completely guide them.

Good luck and have fun!

Re: Games for the wife

to the OP, cuboid is a great game. my wife likes brain challenge. she really likes the buzz games, or theres that mahjong game. or all of the great examples my fellow ps3ers stated.

Re: Games for the wife

I'm in the same boat.  My girlfriend LOVES LittleBigPlanet, and any old cute side-scrolling platform (ie Super Mario Bros), but she can't stand anything that's 1st Person or 3D, as she'll get dizzy.  We played Lego Star Wars, and it was fun, but the other two Lego games were just more of the same with different suits.

One of our very favorite games to play, which sadly isn't on the PS3, was Worms 2 (Back before it got all 3D).  I keep hoping that one day they'll port it over.

If you find any other games that you both enjoy, keep posting.  You're not alone.

Re: Games for the wife

Definitely Little Big Planet. Great platformer/puzzle game. And it has that "that's SOOO cute" appeal that women eat up.

Re: Games for the wife

I have tried many games out for my girlfriend over the years with almost no luck. The only success I have gotten is with Daxter for PSP and for some weird reason she loves Lumines, try that especially because she liked tetris.

Re: Games for the wife

We have PAIN(came with a voucher in the PS3 box), and she likes that from time to time to help deal with, ahem, stress at work.  Got PJ:M but she didn't really get into that, bought her Puzzle Quest and she HATED the RPG side of it, then Bejeweled 2 came along and she absolutely LOVES it.  She liked the PJ:E demo but we never got it, we got the Go!Puzzle but she hasn't tried it, and she is waiting for me to purchase the full Zuma game, she liked the demo.  I have the SSD demo but I am not sure if she has tried it.  We got Elefunk and she liked that one.  She didn't try LBP but I know I liked it so if/when I do buy it, she will play it then.  We picked up Buzz Quiz and she likes doing that when we have friends over.  GH:WT and RB2 really get her fingers flying and she so loves that.  Had me get the Super Rub a Dub since it was a "cute game" and the High Velocity Bowling for fun.
