I sure hope all your effort to get this game published in english will be fruitful. I am begining to get withdrawals from my Daisenryaku Exceed which I havnt got to play since moving to another country. I've tried to fine a copy here and thats how I stumbled onto this thread. If noone does publish it I might have to import a US playstation 2.
But anyway PLEASE someone publish this game it is the best strategy game ever!
Welcome aboard, Lost_Cartress! We're always glad to see new members coming to add their support. Hopefully as you said we'll be able to see DSP HD loacalized for the West; that should in theory solve your withdrawal problems since the game would be region-free!
Hi there, AtlanteanMan. You may remember me from YouTube as vgaoct91 - who commented on your Daisenryaku Perfect 3.0 USA video. This is a pretty nice board you've got going here, especially when it came down to covering some factions that didn't show in your videos (The Koreas, Canada, etc.), and more so... sparked my interest in that patch made by your friend.
Hi and thanks for joining the community, gartenno1. I've messaged you a reply privately.
Regarding the English patch for DSP 3.0 (which is a LEGAL user-generated mod using the retail Japanese game's built-in editors, just so there's no confusion about this; it's also a work-in-progress that certain members of the community are working together on), this is something you should NEVER have mentioned here on these forums.
Everyone here has put probably thousands of hours of combined effort into this community, its posts, toward raising awareness with gamers and developers, and much more, and thus far Sony has been kind enough to allow us the use of these forums to discuss DSP HD and the Daisenryaku series in general. And believe me, I don't want to see all of that go by the boards because the thread got shut down over mention of something like this.
Very few people have been able to participate in this ongoing project, which is being single-handedly undertaken by a single member here who, like me, has an official, legally purchased retail copy of DSP 3.0. The reason is simple; not everyone can afford a game, no matter how awesome, that tops $100 US to import, and far fewer could play it without an English patch. We would LOVE for this work to be shared by everyone who wants a copy, but we can't do so because so many folks can't afford to import; again, our real hope lies in official localizations.
The lengths to which our community and others like it have gone and continue to go to be able to play the games we love should speak for themselves, for Sony or any third-party localization developers looking in. Maybe DSP HD wouldn't make for a Platinum seller in an eye candy-loving gamer generation, but don't EVER doubt for a second the dedication of the fans who DO want this series to keep coming here. Such dedication deserves better than to be ignored in favor of the next FPS or hack-and-slash zombie franchise. And this community and this thread deserve not to be shut down over one person's indiscretion; they didn't know better, and that's why I'm in "damage control mode" now.
Please don't turn your backs on us.
