I've had 3 broken 360's within 1 year. No problems with any of my Ps3's so far.

Honestly i actually do like the PlayStation 3 community and everything, but i'm here talking about the systems them self. Note that this is just my general opinion on the systems. I like the Xbox 360 better generally because i have had it for about 5 years now and the PlayStation 3 only a little over a year now and I already have to send it in for repair, even though I have gone through every restoring or rebuilding step their is to try and fix my PlayStation 3, as for the Xbox 360 i have not had one problem with it so far and never had to contact support or look up any type of support for it. So as far as consoles go Xbox 360 is my favorite overall.
I respect your opinion, but don't you think you were just unlucky with your PS3? I mean, I'm pretty sure if you look up the numbers the X360 had a way higher failure rate with the RROD (red ring of death) issue...
My PS3 broke too, **bleep** happens, but you shouldn't call a console a favorite because it still lives, that would mean that I would call my parents my favorites instead of my awesome grandparents who passed away, which is the biggest mistake you can make...
Your favorite system should be the one you have the most fun on, and for me, that's the PS3 with all it's exclusives, it's totally fine if yours is the X360, but not for such a weird reason

If you have a launch-model PS3, and an Xbox 360 slim or late fat Elite, then that explains the differences in failure rates.
RROD was very, very, very common on the 2005-2010 fats, YLOD was rather common on the fat PS3's, particularly the ones that can play PS2 games.
Both Sony and Microsoft apparently used cheap thermal paste and applied it wrong, leading to overheating issues. Jokes on them, they had to deal with repairing many consoles for thinking they could be cheap and have no problems.

Mine went up 2 years ago( ironically the same week I went in for emergency surgery after accidently recreating a scene from Alien). I sent my unit off to get it fixed somewhere( not Sony) and got it back the same week. It works lije a dream now, only failing after about 5 years the one time.

I'm still playing my launch PS3. I've been through a half-dozen 360s.
The general consensus is that the PS3 is a more powerful, more reliable console with more features than the 360. The 360 has a better controller and people seem to think that Live is better than PSN, though I can't tell much of a difference. But all of that is last-gen.
This gen, PS4 is slightly more powerful, easier to develop for, and PSN with PS+ is not only cheaper than Live, but also offers much better free games.
