I've talked in a kind of loud voice... I'm not much of an impressor. If I have to impress someone to get them to like me (after the initial begining stages, that is) then I don't really want to do it. Because then I have to keep it up, which can be a pain.

Made up some phony story to my ex girlfriend (before we were dating) just so I could call her and just happen to be playing my guitar in the background. I'm an idiot, lolol.

Same here.  If you try to hard, they wind up liking the person you pretend to be and not you.

I'll sometimes go maybe 5% out of the way to impress someone but I generally try not to go too far.  It's too much effort to maintain a false persona, and it's kind of like living a lie.  For instance, if I pretended to like the opera, then I would get stuck going to the opera for years just to maintain the deception.  I'm not George Costanza and it would soon drive me nuts faking it like that.

I don't do squat.
I listen to what The Hitchhickers Guide to the Galaxy has to say on the subject
of love. "Avoid if at all possible." I might be weird for it but so far it has surved
me well.
