For you Whovians out there, which episodes do you guys recommend me? I want to give the series a try but I don't think I'm going to watch all of them.

No point watching all of them. The series started decades ago.

I just did research on Doctor Who. It turns out that several episodes from the original series ended up missing because of bad storage placement. I guess I'll watch the current series starting with season 1 to see how it plays off.

A lot of television programs from back then don't exist anymore. There was no real archiving, and they just taped over a lot of things. Things like first ten years of The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson are completely gone. Once in a while something will turn up, but the condition is often poor due to less than ideal storage conditions.

Seven episodes with William Hartnell have just been recovered.

Still on season 3. One of my favorite shows, and I recommend it to all nerds Smiley Tongue For instance, there is an episode where the Doctor's assistant (Martha) and some other guy are asked pop quiz questions, and one of them was "Who had more pre-download songs: Elvis or The Beatles? The Doctor makes a comment, starts talking in his fast voice, and says "Here Comes the Sun". I found it funny because the episode pertained to a ship hurtling into a star, and that's a song by The Beatles Smiley Tongue

eh. I found Matt Smith to be a bit of a boring Doctor IMO. I'll reconsider watching Dr. Who if Peter Capaldi is a decent or better Doctor.
