Ok well I was updating my ipod and I imported a cd and itunes tells me it has 18 songs and is about the 785 megabytes. If there are about 1000 megabytes in a gigabyte and I have a 4gb ipod how come I can hold way more then 5 or 6 cds on it?

Not all songs are the same size take that into consideration

18 songs isn't 785 megabytes... maybe 78.5 or something.

thats a lot of space for 18 songs. most my songs are, are about 5mb each
