isnt there a thing where u can rotate stuff and then u can rotate the text box?

On the outside of the text box there is a little square, click it and rotate. You can do by degrees by going to image or file, not sure which, and clicking "free transform" or "transform"..can't open CS2 to check..on my crap laptop right now...

It works too by just clicking outside of the box, click and hold, and then drag up an down.

Ohh, diagonal, I read horizontal for some reason.  Do you want each letter to be positioned upward or tilted?  If you want them to be upward, you can just set each letter to it's own layer and position them however you want.  Or tilted, like others said, press Ctrl+T to transform and tilt it however far you want.
