Re: people who use big words incorrectly

I try and catch myself with those words. I will make sure I am fitting the definition (typically, I try not to be exotic with my word choice). I try not to use too many large words when explaining something, but I believe we need a large vocabulary.

Just read George Orwell's 1984. One of the easiest ways to keep the population ignorant and stupid is to keep them from learning to articulate their point.

Just look at politics. The vast majority of people know nothing of how our elections work. Ask some adults and they are unsure of what the Electoral College is and how they are chosen. Ignorance is bliss until the government uses it to take advantage of you.

they annoy me so **bleep** much. once in a while i'll run across schmucks who will use words like "wherefore," "purvey," and "disparaged" without having a clue what they're talking about. and the people who use big words and ramble on about jargon they read from somebody else without having any hands-on knowledge for themselves...those guys too. i may not know everything but i do know **bleep** - and they're full of it.
