partition help

i wanna partition my external hard drive with fat32 file thing. but how?  dont i have to use a program?  i dont wanna use partition magic cuz the free version wont allow me to do that.  so any free programs that will allow me to do that?

yea, its a blank usb external hard drive that is NTFS but i want it to be FAT32.

yes, but when i try to format it only allows me to use NTFS and i want FAT32, not NTFS.

I have to go and shovel snow, so right click on it in my conputer and click format, then it will ask if you want to format it as FAT or FAT32

Sorry i cant stay longer to help, ill keep this up in a tab so i can reload it, if you cant get it, when i get back inside, i will bump it and contunie to help you.

The only way i think that you can do it, is if you boot from a windows 98 floopy and type fdisk, then format the drive OTHER that your main local one.
