Well, I'm gonna have to be the odd one out of the group and say that people with a higher post count/rank are more respected, because they've been here a long time and they know what they're talking about.  I haven't been here too long, but I've had many people thank me for my help on the God of War board.

thats not true at all. i have been here a few months longer than navS, and he has like twice as many posts as me. explain that.
there are people that have been here half as long as me, and have twice as many posts. that makes them spammers imo. either that or they stayed up 24/7 answering every thread they could find.

Post count means absolutely nothing imo...say something intelligent that forwards the conversation and I will respect that regardless of post count!...People who have 10,000 posts in less than a year and respond to threads with a are spammers...Sometimes I'll see a thread started where someone asks a question,if you respond "I don't know!" then you are a spammer!...Get it?

sometimes it does, there are people here who have tons of posts, if they have been here a while it generally means they don't post junk or they would be banned.  so if your looking for reliable info don't look at the people who joined yesterday and have 2 posts.

So not true...there are many people that post a lot in one day, but it doesn't mean that it's all useless information.

I think you c an tell an experienced poster when you read their posts from the content and depth of thought. I believe the more you post the more you "can ' grow more informed which if you have the knowledge and the experience you get the respect .

I think, "Quality not quanity."

High post count means nothing in the terms of respect, unless that user gives high quality posts. Newer members with small post counts that know their stuff should be given the same amount of respect as someone with 10,000 posts. People with higher post counts have generally been here for a while, thus more people knowing them, seeming like they have more respect. I don't look at someone's post or rank, but look at the quality of their posts, everyone should be treated the same, whether they have 50 posts, or 5000 posts...

I always try to infuse the most quality into each post as possible, but when I started out in PSP General, I was flamed constantly.Smiley Sad So I began to post in Off Topic instead. Sometimes I go back to PSP general just for fun, (and to help people) and I definitely get more respect. It's an unfortunate system, but it's the one we have.
