Wow your MOC choice is limited (No offense here.) but im going to assume thats a USA military thing, cause when I joined I had hundreds of choices and that was still after I took all my testings.

Anyways, if you plan on sticking around in the military for a long time then I suggest you do something you want to do reguardless of how it relates to a civilian job.

Personally I would take Combat Engineer but thats cause I like to blow **bleep** up. Now if your basing this on it relating to civi jobs then you need tot hink about your future more.

Telecommunications Operator is in a sense (No offense.) an insanely dumbed down job of what I do for the Canadian Military. Look up Line Technician, Line Maintainer or Linemen up on google or go here http://www.recruiting.dnd.ca/v3/engraph/jobs/jobs.aspx?id=052&bhcp=1 and youll get a very basic outline of what I do, which is Telecommunications, just Canada's line tech is the most deployable in the UN and NATO (Line Tech that is, right now im a Cpl and im more qualified then a like high end Sgt in the US military as a teleop.) anyways I didnt come here to talk about me. (Telecommunications Operator and Cable installer are mixed in with my trade plus tons more.)

I would also choose Military Police as it can transfer over to Civi side easily. Its a police officer for the Military, with a set pay based on your rank.

I cant tell you to much about the American military cause I'm not one and I dont know how your spec pay works or how you all get paied there, if its hours worked or total per day or what.

Either way here is the trades I personally would take if I was joining the American military and only had those choices.

  • Combat Engineer
  • Interior Electrician
  • Telecommunications Operator
  • Cable Systems Installer
  • Military Police

There isnt much in there for choices. But reguardless watch the video that is in the link I gave and youll see what I do which is basically Interior Elec, Telecomm and Cable installer from that list there and maybe youll get the jist of what the 3 of those mean.

im going with MP because at our school we can do a co op program and a job shadow and i am thinkingof being a cop or an acting teacher
if i can get it in writing i will change to 56m

EDIT: Ive noticed im into more high risk jobs then you are, no offense but I would find Paralegal assistant and Chaplin assistant very boreing. I couldnt be an assistant for anything also my choices that I gave you put alot of responsability on you eventually. If your into taking charge and responsability then look into the middle three for sure, hours can be very long depending on the project and the jobs are insanely important to the communications of any unit, birgade, task force whatever, Without Comms people start dieing.

Have fun with MP, they are in high demand over seas to train the local cops as well as keep your own troops in line cause they go stir crazy. I have a lot of friends that are MPs for Canada, and MP isnt the easiest job either just to give you a heads up Ive seen their training.

Someone who assists the Chaplain/Padre with the wellbeing of Soldiers and their famalies.

If the Chaplain is to busy to meet someone they meet the assistant, the assistant book appointments, etc....either way I think its a **bleep**ty job cause Chaplains are so important for soldiers your mainly doing paperwork, sending letters doing everything the Chaplian doesnt have time for.
