XBOX ONE

6 replies 136 views Edited May 31, 2013

I saw some cool features on the xbox one controlling the tv is there any chance ps4 will have that built in to it as well.  Im not an xbox fan never owned one and absolutely hate microsoft 8 which is built into it as well, just watched a part of the trailer and that seemed kind of cool to me with the communication between the person and console, voice commands and motions.  Any chance June 10th will be revealing those kind of features?

What the heck is microsoft 8?

And no, the PS4 is a gaming console, not a voice activated remote for watching tv.

Windows 8 is the only operating system endorsed by the gods. Disliking it is heresy.

Not to go off-topic (off-topic forum? lol), but the main problem with Windows 8, is that it is a hybrid operation system. It was designed to work on both touchscreens and KB/M (Keyboard/Mouse). As a result, it doesn't work as well as it potentially could on either platform.

Xbox One does have a modified version of Windows 8 on it. Unfortunately, it takes up 3 GB of the 8 GB it has installed. By comparison, the PS4's OS will only us 1 GB of the 8 GB it also has.

Back on topic; No, the PS4 is very unlikely to have voice controls. Firstly, because voice control is still relatively young, and doesn't really work all the time (refer to this post), and because, as mentioned a few posts above, the PS4 is a gaming console, not an cable box that can also play games.

Gojet-64 is now Encvell. (Gojet-64 is now only used for older games and Vita)
