I like PLUS, because I get games for free; I otherwise would not have bought. Due to a limited budget, I find it helpful when I have finished a game I did buy. It helps pass the time between actual purchases.
As far as hard copies, I would rather have those as well. I figure the games I am getting for the subscription fee, are not so important that I would be disappointed if I lost them. I can see those who get mad when PLUS members get a game they have already bought when they came out. This is just part of the system though.
Having PLUS should be incentive NOT to buy games you are not entirely sure of. This way, you eventually get them for "free", or at least at the PLUS discount.
Just my opinions though.
I haven't been playing as much this year and haven't sought a need to renew my subscription. I was an early adopter. Now with the PS+ and Vita integration I want to subscribe again.
