This place used to be jumping with users about 4 years ago. What happened? Back before this new theme they have now, it seemed like everyone on psn was here?
You're a little late to that party & so you're certainly not the first to mention this point, in fact there has been a looooong line of people ahead of you stating similar things (check out the search function & you'll find them).
After the whole "PSN IS DOWN!" debacle and everybody couldn't log on to anything that required their PSN I.D., everybody just seemed to leave and not care anymore about the forums anymore. They seem to be slowly reviving, but it'll take awhile.
I'm beginning to come around to the forums again and I hope more people do too.
But what happened is my question? What caused the collapse? Admins being too strict?
What happened?, well the change from Lithium to Jive wasn't well received, the "whiteness" of the Forums is not to many people's liking, mine included, although I'm used to it now, "Admin's being too restrictive?", no not really, I like to think I have a good working relationship with most of the the Moderation Team, certainly the ones that frequent the "Main Forums" anyway, but there has been some changes with the Moderation Team, initially when Lithium went & Jive came in, that meant that Sony's own staff took over the moderation, some were good, some not so, but there has been a pretty high throughput off Moderators over the past few months, year or so & that hasn't helped, certainly continuity wise, & continuity is something these Forums require.
The trouble is no one likes change, especially when that change is made for 'changes sake", occasionally change is necessary, & the upcoming changes at the end of this month will be very telling on these Forums, that will be interesting.
There was no one reason why the Forums lost a number of people, but some of the reasons I have named above.
