Video Cards and Apricots

12 replies 1 views Edited Nov 21, 2006
Hey there everybody!
What's up?
How's life goin for you?
Woman Surprised
Deep Purple is magnificent.

smashing

So I've been thinking and I need to get a cheapo video card to last me till I get myself another console or a better computer(which will probably happen mid next year, waitin for vista and mid range dx10 vid cards yayaya)
So I need some opinions
What do you think is the best deal for a video card under $100?
I'm probably just going to be playing WoW and misc. games I've missed out on because of my current integrated ATI XPRESS200 shiznaz.
(note: I pretty much beat oblivion at 5-15fps)
I'm more familiar with Nvidia, but whatever works
Thanks in advance for any help

ps:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
2gb ram

pci-e x16

$110 after rebates, the card is pretty decent for needs until dx10. You can get the same card on black friday at circuit city for $90

You have to replace it, what is your current powersupply unit?

what'll happen if you put the video card in if you don't have enough watts?

Instability, your computer should be acting funky but it will not die. When you play games and not have enough power, it would crash and give you errors or reboot out of no where.

Peronsally i would just buy from newegg, its a hassle to fight for them in line and waiting in the cold early in the morning to make sure you get one. it's like 50 dollars in rebates too.
