Re: The United States Constitution: 2nd Amendment

Apr 8, 2013

I find it amazing, the hot legislative topics of today are the following:

Portion / Container Size Control

Legalization of Marijuana

Legalization, on the Federal Level, for Abortion

Legalization, and deregulation, of the "morning after pill"

Abolishment of the Death Penalty

Banning of Firearms

I laugh at the duality of some of these initiatives.  Let's ban guns, but abolish the Death Penalty.  Let's abolish the Death Penalty, but legalize and promote Abortions.

Lets limit the portions and sizes of containers, to force people to be healthy, but lets legalize marijuana so they can get stoned.

Just calling it like I see it.

Moble

LOL @ Disarm the people, the Government has and always will have murdered more people than every civilian combined in the world. German Government WWII, Perfect example. I can't believe people care that big Carl living in the woods has a rifle when their Government has thousands of nuclear bombs.

Astrocytoma can ruin my life but it can't break my spirit...Ghost minded and in the Shadows. Don't get it? yeah thats because it isn't normal.

The best part about the 2nd ammendment is we will never need it until it is gone!   Smiley Wink.

Another early American's comments on the 2nd ammendment.  Just think of what our current politicians have been up to with guns when you read it.

"Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? It is feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American... [T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people."

Well,if a criminal does NOT follow the law, then how does a law help? A man who kills 20 kids aint gonna follow anlaw. If guns are banned, ill keep mine cuz our forefathers gave me that roght to defend myself and i damed sure aint gonna give it up! I mean i keep a 12gauge under bed and one in my closet,i also keep a 9mm in my vehicle at all times. So if Obama has gunbearing guards, and still says no guns. Its time to get him out. If a CRIMinal CRIME is in their name, decides to get an AK47 and all i gots a rock to defend myself, murder rates skyrocket. Chicago, strictest gunbans highest firearm homicide rate. Statistics prove it. Police carry GUNS. The military uses GUNS. America won our independence with GUNS. And criminals have GUNS,so we must protect ourselves with GUNS.

Re: The United States Constitution: 2nd Amendment

States shouldn't have the right to delegate gun rights. That should be a federal choice imo. The 2nd amendment allows for people to have guns, but they weren't of the kind that are out today. They were rifles and muskets, way different than the machine guns and sub-machine guns, etc., that are out today. People don't need to have that kind of fire power in order to defend themselves and their homes.

I respect those who have guns in their homes, but something's got to give when people keep on buying these high-powered weapons time and time again.

Not to mention gun shows, there needs to be some sense of regulation and control at these events. Letting almost anyone be able to buy a gun there... is like giving anyone a lit stick of dynamite. It's downright crazy and downright dangerous.

Well,we were built on a REPUBLIC which means, government has no control ove rthe people, they meerley speak for and represent them. In a democracy,if u have a bike and 5 others want it,its theirs bc majority rules, but in a republic, what u have is urs ur own and no1 elses unless u say otherwise.

My only issues with using statements from the early years of the USA is that the people that wrote it, could not even have begun to imagine what this country would become, or the weapons we would have.

The country we live in now, is a mix of a republic and democracy, we are not one or the other, we also use aspects of socialism.
