I know. Personally I don't want a PS3 but those people who are standing in line just to make money on the console instead of playing it really piss me off. There are people who want a PS3 to play it and a spot they could have is being taken up but someone who cares more about money,

Well obviously. They make money off of selling the rights to make games for the PS3, and advertising.

Blue Wild Angel wrote:I disagree, becuase the hardware in the PS3 is very expensive. Blu-Ray, anyone? Duo-Quad core processor? So it does make sense that Sony is losing money on each PS3 sold.
That is what they want you to believe. They want it to seem like you are getting a good deal. But I tell you, Sony is MAKING money on these PS3s. They have the best marketing strategy ever. Make few PS3s, and make people hungry for them. That is what made the slim ps2 so popular.
Software costs like $80, and out of that how much does Sony get? like let's say roughly a very generous 20$.... what does this mean.....that everyone who buys a PS3 will have to buy 10 games for them to make up for it............................... No one buys that many games, barely do people buy 5 mostly less..... So they need to chomp away at 50% of the profits.... or something like that..........
CommonerChaos wrote:Because it costs $800-$900 bucks to make the system, and they are selling it for $600. But they make up for it in software...

I believe that the Wii is the first console to be released at a GAIN. Consoles are damn expensive to manufacture, and would you ACTUALLY want to pay $900 for the PS3? Didn't think so.
