Influenza and diarrhea are very dangerous back in the day for children and the elderly. With today's treatment however, I'm sure he will be alright.

I have heard of new strains of supergerm that are resistant to the antibiotics.  Vancomycin was our last line of defense, and it is now ineffective against this new strain.

In the early 1900's before the advent of penecillin, there was a flu outbreak in the United States that killed millions of people.  Now that our antibiotics are failing, we are due for another major flu attack.
