most likely its a scam, but if you really want to make sure if its real or not, call Sony.

Call Sony to be sure, but according to my tracer the E-mail comes from Silverpop. Silverpop is a mass-emailing company that lists Sony in their clients list.

Just checked an old e-mail I got about the forums switching over in July 2012 and a few others. From info@sony.messages4.com. So I'd say it's fine and not a scam but that's my experience.

Most e-mails that give you things 'for free' are scam.

I never got that e-mail, but on Sonys facebook page, they do list that, the holiday button, and it`s only available in canada. here https://www.facebook.com/PlayStationCanada?fref=ts a few posts done, they post their Holiday Button contest, each click on the button is 1 entry, there is 1 grand prize (drawing on the 20th) and 200 instant prizes that can be done by clicking the button. (although I am sure they have all been claimed by now.)

Also note, you can only enter this contest if you live in canada and have a facebook account.

Yeah, that is for totes legit. Though you won't win anything if you don't live in Canada.

You will get a chance to win and they will get a chance to sell your email and whatever other personal info you agree to give them to telemarketing companies.
