Reimagining of PS2 and PS3 games for PS4

6 replies 87 views Edited Jul 19, 2013
Here's some food for thought. If possible and both companies worked closely together what PS2 and PS3 games would you like to see remade or re-imagined by a different studio than the original creators for the PS4? Must be good studio with experience and has at least 2 well known games such as Naughty Dog, Last of Us and Uncharted.

EXAMPLE:
Naughty Dog
PS3 remake : Red Dead Redemption (orginal rock star)
PS2 remake: Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow (orginal ubisoft)

See this is what we need Backwards Compatibility for...

Developers shouldn't be focusing on Remaking old Games just to work for the Next New Console,

they need to worry about their own Generation of Games...

Without Backwards Compatability on the Consoles, all People are going to be asking for,

is older Games made for these Systems... Or at least Remakes of them...

And the Developers will be spending so much time making those Games, &

have not enough time to Focus on Newer Games they want us to experience for

that Generation...

Lets face it, People are way too hell bent on the Past, they just can't move forward...

Controllers are New, & Games are New, but all we want are our old stuff on a New Console...

Why? Because we just can't part with them, @_@

Valid point. What about handing a franchise over to a new studio and they take the story from there?

Well to be honest, this has already been discussed before...

Let me ask you this?

If you made a Franchise that made you Millions, even Billions, would you want some other Developer

putting their fingers on it? It doesn't matter if it's Bill Gates himself, Sony, or some Amazing Developer...

The Question is, would you want them touching your Master Piece? oO

With backwards compatibility you're going to be playing old games, and not buying new ones. Which is why they dumped it to begin with.

Here's the problem with that last paragraph, if you just can't part with your old console, why are people so intent on selling off their stuff, and going into hock to buy the latest hardware? It seems like an enomours contradiction. I'm so attatched to my old stuff that I must sell it to buy new stuff? Makes zero sense.

Make games good enough and compelling enough that I don't have the urge to play games from 10+ years back.

Companies are failing to do that in most cases.
