Recommend selling to Gamestop for $150 and buying a slim. Like right now.

You know they test systems before they buy them right?

I may be wrong but I remember hearing that they take broken consoles

They do.

You think they will give you $150 for one that is broken?
Yeah, you don't go in there saying, "Hey, I got a broken PS3. Can I get $150 for it, durrr?!" You just tell them it's a PS3. If they go to check if it works, and it doesn't, just play stupid and go, "Ummm what the hell? It was working fine at home a minute ago. What did you guys do?!" then act like it's their fault it broke.

Regardless of how I act, or what I say, they are not going to buy a broken system and give me cash as if it worked.

That last part is just redicluous..

I recommend buying a slim, bury your old playstation in the middle of the week.... have a service, motorcade, and funeral.

Then start drinking heavy on Halloween with your new buddy.

Pour a little out for your fallen friend though, in memory

Eh I would if I wanted to mess with all this, but its a lot of parts and screws and I don't want to mess things up.

I think I'm going to just get a Slim with a 2-year warranty (just incase) and then get a used PS2 for dirt cheap so I can still play PS2 games.

Before you do anything with it, I recommend cleaning the dust off, inside and out, of the system.  In most cases, the Yellow Light of Death results from a congestion of dust.  If what others have said is true, just dust off the system, turn it back on, and it should work once again.

See thats the thing, thats what I thought it might be. I had it unplugged and I blew into old-school like (NES days) and then went to show my gf how it died, and it worked for about a minute until it shut off again. So i went to walgreens and got some compressed air, blew as much dust as possible, and still nothing.
