A lot of people do. It was just a freak accident. Not like the parents did it on purpose.
Chuf it out.

Umm, lots...  And did you bother to read?  "the parents were sleeping on a mattress in the living room of their residence and the month-old girl was in an infant seat beside them"  "Mary Shannon Hansche, 22, and Christopher Wayne Hansche, 26, told police they woke up to the sound of the baby crying, found her mangled foot and took her to the hospital about 8:30 a.m. Sunday."

It's not their fault, and I'm sure they're sad about it...  And the dog was still a puppy, merely 6 weeks.

Look on the bright side, at least the puppy didn't chew off her face.

Having a Pitt Bull in a house with a baby is negligent. I don't care if the dog is a puppy or not.

Then a lot of parents are not protecting their children from dogs...IMO....They might have been right there but dogs (even puppies) can be dangerous around small children and shouldn't be around them alone. It's not like I'm saying they wanted it to happen but they were being careless with a new baby in the house. It's not even because it was a pit bull either. It's because they weren't thinking of the safety of their child. I have three boys and I would have never left them on the floor where a dog could have gotten them. I just don't think people should be protecting parents anymore because they were being careless. It's a parents job to protect their children and these two were not doing that.

Teresa Miller, who sold the puppy to the Hansches, was skeptical the dog did it. "He didn't chew on anything while he was with me. Out of all of them (in the litter), he was the least chewy."

No, real parents don't leave their 1 month alone for 1 moment. This is a baby we are talking about

Edit: O see another member pointed out they were right beside the baby which makes this even more sad
